A little history about me…

Prior to coming to work for Pyramid of Hope Counseling I worked for 25 years in the public school system. The summer of 2020 I decided to retire and pursue a new adventure in private practice. I was an elementary school teacher for 19 years then transitioned into school counseling for my last 6 years. After I retired from the school system, I began working for Pyramid of Hope counseling and have been here since October of 2020.

I am married and have three sons. My children bring me great joy and are by far my greatest achievement. Our family is rounded out with our dog Ember. She is really sweet and definitely very connected to me.

I find great peace being in nature, where I can be found hiking, kayaking, or camping. I am an avid reader and enjoy traveling with my family.

Starting at a young age I exhibited a passion to help people. I have overcome many of my own obstacles to enjoy the success I have found as an adult. I believe these obstacles have provided me a foundation which people connect to easily when they meet me. I am empathetic and compassionate. I easily make connections with people and find people enjoy talking with me.  My children fine this connection unusual and have asked me, “Do you even know that person?” Quite often I do not, but I am always willing to lend and ear and provide guidance whenever I can.

I may not initially know you as a new client, but we will build a quick connection to allow us to reach your goals. I will use my experience, compassion and empathy to help you move forward. My main objective is to help you reach your goals and become a healthier, happier you.
